In this role you will be responsible for conducting market research into the digital travel economy and delivering strategic insights for the benefit of our clients. You will assist in gathering information, conducting surveys, interpreting data, formulating reports and making recommendations based upon the research findings. To accomplish this task, you will work with the Business Development and Marketing Departments to provide up to date statistics and insights on the Chinese outbound tourism and Chinese online social media industries.
The successful candidate will also monitor and identify current and emerging trends in Chinese consumer behavior and best marketing practices. You will apply qualitative and quantitative techniques to interpret the data and produce reports. A good understanding of digital marketing, social media and/or of the travel industry in China will be regarded favorably. The position requires a solid understating of digital marketing and excellent communication skills.

Assist the Marketing and Business Development Departments with research on the Chinese outbound tourism, Chinese online social media industry, Chinese consumer behavior and best marketing practices in China
Provide marketing tracking and research information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
Produce periodic research reports in collaboration with the marketing team for wide publication
Assist with completion of ad hoc requests for research information
Compile monthly and quarterly industry reports with key statistics and data about major industry players
Identify current and emerging industry trends
Assemble reports by compiling, consolidating, formatting, and summarizing information, graphs, and presentations
Conduct in-depth data analyses using traditional and advanced methods
Write articles and reports for internal and external use
1 to 3 years of experience in a research capacity
Experience in the tourism and/or social media industries highly advantageous or demonstrated interest in the sectors
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytic and critical thinking capabilities
Detail oriented and with strong organizational skills
Strong understanding of China business environment an advantage
Proactive and able to work independently
Expertise with Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau or Power BI
Bachelors or advanced degree in marketing or business preferred
Curious, creative and strategic – able to identify & clearly articulate business implications drawn from research
Clear, effective & compelling communicator; exceptional written and verbal skills
Digital research experience
Able to effectively guide, mentor and motivate team
Team player with ability to juggle multiple projects, effectively prioritize stakeholder needs, meet tight deadlines
Ability to creatively analyze, and react to a variety of sales challenges
Broad based knowledge of traditional and emerging media platforms in China
