Data Snapshot: Chinese International Flight Connectivity

Travel booking app Hangban Guanjia has released data on international flights from China for the week of 5-11 June, offering a valuable snapshot of how flight capacity recovery is going.


Travel booking app Hangban Guanjia has released data on international flights from China for the week of 5-11 June, offering a valuable snapshot of how flight capacity recovery is going. The country receiving the most outbound flights from China was South Korea, with 581 flights – reaching 51.1% of 2019’s levels. The most recovered country is the UK, where flights were back to 90.8% of what they were at this time in 2019. Least recovered is the US, where there were only 24 flights, equivalent to 6.6% of 2019’s levels.

 

Currently nearly three-quarters of international flights from China are to destinations in East and Southeast Asia. Europe is the most-connected long-haul destination, accounting for 11.8% of outbound flights from China.
