Dragon Trail’s CEO George Cao spoke about new trends in tourism marketing at the World Tourism Cities Federation’s (WTCF) launch event for their Report on World Tourism Economy Trends 2019 on January 16, 2019 in Beijing.

George joined a panel that also featured speakers from WeChat, Tuniu, the Chongqing government, and the South African embassy. His talk covered some of the most important trends in China for tourism marketing, including the rise of short video content, the importance of market segmentation, and the top Chinese digital platforms to inspire and inform China’s outbound tourists.

The talk was part of WTCF’s event to launch their new report, published in cooperation with the Tourism Research Center, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (TRC-CASS). The event was attended by delegates from WTCF, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, foreign institutions in China including the embassies of Panama and South Africa, Chinese tourism-related agencies, and more than 100 Chinese and foreign media.

The annual Report on World Tourism Economy Trends focuses on the perspectives of global, regional, country, industry and city levels and makes a panoramic analysis of the development trend of the world tourism economy.
