Utour Integrates Dragon Trail Content & Tech for Travel Agent Training

One of China's leading outbound travel agencies, Utour has launched a new Travel Expert Certification Platform with Dragon Trail’s tech and training content, connecting global destinations with Utour's 5,000 retail travel advisors across 20 provinces and regions.

One of China’s leading outbound travel agencies, Utour, has integrated Dragon Trail’s China Travel Academy B2B training platform into its own Utour Academy. Utour’s new Travel Expert Certification Platform for employees was developed with full content and technology support from Dragon Trail International. Designed for travel professionals across China, the platform offers official destination certification courses to help front-line sales staff better understand products and enhance service quality.

Utour Academy serves as an internal training platform for travel advisors within Utour’s retail network, covering more than 2,500 stores across 20 provinces and regions, and reaching approximately 5,000 tourism professionals. This provides a strong and stable distribution channel for course promotion.

Dragon Trail was involved throughout the entire development process  from platform design to course production. The first phase of the platform features official training courses for destinations including Los Angeles, Great Britain, Chile, Thailand, Poland, and AlUla, among other global destinations. All content is provided by destination tourism boards and then localized, produced, and designed by our team as e-learning courses. Courses combine text, video, and assessments, and learners who complete them receive an official digital certificate. These certificates are displayed as part of travel advisors’ digital business cards, showcasing their professional credentials and helping build trust with clients.

The platform is built on Dragon Trail’s China Travel Academy mini-program technology, allowing Utour to flexibly add or remove courses based on their needs. Compared to traditional in-person training, the online platform offers greater flexibility, richer content, and easier tracking of learning progress, which can be used to motivate and evaluate staff performance.

This collaboration extends the reach of our China Travel Academy technology and content through Utour’s expansive retail network, providing destination clients with a more efficient channel to connect with front-line sales teams in China.

Since 2015, Dragon Trail International has trained more than 70,000 Chinese travel professionals on behalf of more than 70 destinations and travel brands. This partnership with Utour marks a new step for us in integrating content with digital tools to support corporate training. Our goal is to deliver high-quality destination courses directly to those selling travel products  helping them tell better stories and drive stronger results  while giving destination marketers a valuable gateway into China’s travel industry.
